"The story of an hour"
"The story of an hour" was a tremendous short story. It was emotional, touching, sad, and joyous all in one breath. More so a breath taker!!!! In "the story of an hour" by Kate Chopin was based around a woman named Mrs.Mallard , and her loved ones trying to find the best way to break to her that due to a railroad disaster her husband, Brently Mallard was killed. Mrs. Mallard was afflicted with heart trouble. Hits to why it was such a tender thing to decide how to break the new with such a condition but nonetheless the news was broken and here i believe the store began. The story seems to have a meaning that stood out to me once I understood her emotions, the things she was actually going through. It became so real , she wept at once and i felt that , felt abandonment : something i know a lot about and it was in that moment it clicked. This short story was not just a story , but a story that mattered because it speaks or shows rather, that you can loss the person you love without ever know when that might be and also about losing the love of your life. That i know many people can identify with , the physical and emotional "exhaustion that haunted her body and seemed to reach into her soul" according to the short story. My favorite part of the story and i hope others agree was her quote stating "she would live for herself. There would be no powerful will bending hers in that blind persistence with which men and women believe they have a right to impose a private will upon a fellow-creature" mainly because I'm not sure people really acknowledge just how much we impose our will on others and also how much sacrificing really happens in that process. Also that love (a unsolved mystery) is a big cause for that, but we do it for those we love!!! Why is that??? And why is it, that once someone is gone; we as adult then choose to think of all the things that really mattered about that person or even how much you really loved them and they didn't even know it!!!! This story was great since the twist was, Mr. Mallard actually was not died and happened to be far from the accident on a whole and Mrs. Mallard was so over-joyed when he walked in that she "died of a heart disease- of the joy that kills." Bring me to my synopses of this story in which my point of view is the things that matter we should talk about now, in today for tomorrrow is not promised and everyone and everthing will not last so live in today and live it with purpose!!!! Or you will end up living with regret!!!!! So talk about the things that matter.. Anyone agree with me ????
